International Treatment Inquiry

Dear requestor,  

Thank you very much for your inquiry and your confidence in Heidelberg University Hospital. We have received your data.

Our next steps will be the following:  

  1. A case manager of the International Office team will check whether all necessary information was provided.
  2. As a rule we will send you a confirmation e-mail including our International Office case number within two working days after receipt of your inquiry. If you do not receive this e-mail within two working days, please check your spam-filter or contact us. If you would like to upload further data in the meantime, please send an e-mail to international.office(at)med.uni-heidelberg.de. We will then provide a link for you to upload further findings.
  3. If we have any questions or if we ask for more medical reports, we will contact you and wait for your answer.
  4. As soon as we have received the required information (including required/expected DICOM image files or other reports) we will forward the inquiry to our appropriate medical specialists.
  5. The medical specialist – or sometimes a team of specialists – will review the medical information provided and decide if a treatment in Heidelberg can be offered and which treatment. In case of a treatment option, you will receive a treatment offer for the expected therapy as well as the cost calculation based on it.
  6. After receipt of the advance payment according our cost estimate, we will arrange an appointment as soon as possible and offer assistance for the medical visa application process.

Duration of processing (steps 4 and 5): 

After the Medical Department has reviewed your case, you will receive a reply from your case manager.
