Department of Otorhinolaryngology (ENT)
at Heidelberg University Hospital
A team of highly qualified physicians and nurses will care for you in our medical center using the most modern equipment. We offer the full range of conservative and innovative therapies (e.g. different endoscopic laser techniques) as well as (micro-) surgical procedures specific to ENT treatment. One of our main areas of concentration is the treatment of tumors in the head and neck. Close cooperation with specialists in other areas affiliated with the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT), as well as with scientists from the German Cancer Research Center, ensures individualized, state-of-the-art treatment design.
Our department embodies the modern concept of a comprehensive head center (“Head Hospital”), combining all of the disciplines connected to the organ systems within the head and neck. This ensures the ideal conditions for the interdisciplinary care of our patients.
We specialize in the treatment of malignant tumors in the following regions
Beside the tumor resection we are focusing on the functional rehabilitation with plastic and reconstructive techniques, with epitheses and most modern electronic devices.
The department manages four operating rooms equipped with the most modern surgical microscopes, digital endoscopes, and video technology, including specialized equipment such as a modern neuro-navigation system, neuromonitoring, and a computed tomography scanner for examinations undertaken during surgery. Our outpatient department includes seven fully equipped examination rooms as well as an outpatient operating room. Our inpatients are accommodated in 39 welcoming single and double rooms with en-suite bathrooms.
