The written and online medical consultation is based on the medical documents submitted by the patient. Please provide all documents that are relevant for the assessment. Heidelberg University Hospital assumes no liability for the quality and content of the submitted documents from external sources. A remote medical consultation is of an informative nature and cannot and should not replace an on-site examination by a doctor. The patient is aware that important information that is usually collected during an on-site examination where the doctor uses all five body senses, may not be available, which limits the diagnosis of a condition, illness or injury. If a doctor gives a remote consultation, this must subsequently be discussed with the treating doctor in your home country, who is responsible for the immediate implementation of the treatment. The Heidelberg University Hospital expressly points out that a right to a remote consultation only arises after the doctor has determined, after reviewing the documents provided, that remote consultation is possible. In some cases, the doctor may not be able to make a meaningful assessment without a personal consultation on-site with the patient; in this case your remote medical consultation will be refused.
