Welcome to the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT) in Heidelberg
A high standard of clinical patient care in combination with ongoing cancer research—that is what the National Center for Tumor Diseases (NCT), a collaborative effort by the Heidelberg University Hospital and the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg, stands for.
Our patients benefit doubly from this exemplary collaboration. Not only do they have access to a major center where they receive comprehensive care, they can benefit from the more rapid implementation in clinical practice of new research findings and promising approaches derived from basic esearch.
The tumor outpatient clinic provides comprehensive care for approximately 4,000 new patients each year. Here patients are examined by cancer specialists, and each case is presented to the tumor conference, an interdisciplinary team of experts.
Whether the patient has received an initial diagnosis or is seeking a second or third opinion, the outcome of this conference is a quality assured therapy plan that conforms to the highest possible standards of medical care.
In addition, the tumor outpatient clinic offers a comprehensive information and consultation service.
